Furqan Ahmed is a 17-year-old high school student who started his ACCA journey with PwC’s Academy. Within a short span of time and with his consistent effort, Furqan became an ACCA Affiliate. Here’s his story!
What motivated you to pursue the ACCA at such a young age?
Since I was young my father influenced me in pursuing ACCA. I did not grasp the idea at the time, but as my studies progressed, I grew more interested in the industry. Now, I realise that the route I'm on is giving me the opportunity to have a head start in my career.
How did PwC’s Academy help you in your journey?
PwC Academy has made a significant impact in my ACCA career, and I surely would not have been able to finish my examinations without their assistance! Initially I started the ACCA prep by reading books and practicing a few questions on my own. However, as the examinations progressed, it became increasingly difficult to stick to this technique. This is when I decided to join PwC's Academy who specialised in the topic and coached me in the right direction so that I could easily pass my exams. Moreover, their excellent teachers also assisted me in changing my study techniques and answering examination questions.
What message would you like to convey to other students?
It is critical to work hard and devote your time to the ACCA programme. However, it is also necessary to have fun from time to time since it will help you concentrate during your study hours and focus on quality rather than quantity. Needless to say, I had numerous ups and downs whilst studying for the ACCA qualification, but it is important to persevere and not give up.
What’s next for you?
I would love to join one of the “Big Four” firms while completing my ICAEW and MsC from the University of London.
