Practice is the key to success. While this is a universally known mantra to ace your exam, it’s one of the most common mistakes students make while preparing for their ACCA exam.

Students spend too much time on concepts and not enough on practising questions. And as a result, they end up struggling to answer the question or managing their time in the exam.

To help students avoid this pitfall, we at PwC’s Academy ensure that this practice is in-built in our classes from day one. In addition to this, students undergo revision classes that have a clear exam practice focus. And to top it off, they wind up their ACCA training with one final session called the Question Based Revision (QBR).

What’s more, now that all ACCA Foundation level papers are in a computer based exam format, we at PwC’s Academy have acquired a computerised system which mimics the ACCA system. All our revision and QBR sessions are now done on a computer, and students are exposed to exam conditions down to the actual software on multiple occasions they are familiar with exam conditions, and are not intimidated during the exam.

So, what is the QBR session?

Simply put, it’s a mock exam session for exam practice in an exam-based setting. It’s a trial run before the actual exam. In the QBR, students practise questions worth more than 100 marks, unlike an exam, just so they maximise their learning and time management. All questions are exam-standard and are attempted in timed conditions.

So, how does it work?

Once students finish a section their answers are marked. This helps immediately identify the strengths and areas of development. They also get a copy of the best answer to give them an idea of what they should target for. They also get exam based tips and recap essential concepts with an ACCA training expert.

Does it really help?

We 100% believe it does! According to Vasudev Puri, a PwC’s Academy ACCA student “The QBR extensively covered the important areas of the syllabus in depth. The feedback received during the QBR helped me focus on key concepts of the content and strengthen my application of those concepts before the exam. The study techniques using the PUMAQ approach and extra practice questions were of great relevance as they improved my confidence to write the exam.”
