PwC’s Academy students had to look no further than the Annual Career Day that took place at on 18 March 2018 to take the first step towards a successful career. The recruitment representatives from CAPEX Hassan Auditing, Emirates NBD, The First Group, Marriott International, Aurifer ME Tax Consulting and ASA VAT Consultancy were eagerly looking for their next top intern or employee.
We saw 12 students receive offers for either internships or full-time employment almost immediately after the Annual Career Day event. Here is a mention of a few of those students who managed to impress their current employers.
Zoya Hasan | Full-time Role | Aurifer ME Tax Consulting
Self-aware enough to know that she was always “a debit-credit person”, Zoya immediately realized that the corporate world was for her. Through her proactive nature and willingness to learn, she made a strong case in front of the representatives from Aurifer and secured a three-month internship with the tax-consulting firm.
Winfredah Silundu | Full-time Role | CAPEX Hassan Auditing
After providing a profile that was considered “bright and impressive” by the interviewers from CAPEX. Winfredah topped it off by giving a splendid interview and after which she received a full-time offer, in a consulting role, at the auditing firm.
Mohamed Fazal | Internship | CAPEX Hassan Auditing
An enthusiastic Mohamed found himself present at the Academy’s Career day eager to attend an interview with CAPEX Hassan Auditing. After impressing the interviewers, he managed to earn himself an internship with an opportunity to convert to a full-time position at CAPEX.
Sagarika Shinde | Internship | The First Group
After attending an interview with The First Group, Sagarika earned herself an internship to put her financial skills and ability on display. A few months down the line and she now finds herself in a full-time roll within their finance team, which goes to show her potential for continued success.
Nidhi Shroff | Internship Offer | Emirates NBD
With a display of utmost professionalism and potential to be a real asset to the firm, Nidhi received an offer from Emirates NBD to be a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility team. Considering that an offer was received so soon after her interview, it shows how well prepared she is to step into the corporate world.
Our Career Day presents a great opportunity for our students. It allows attendees to understand the general hiring practices of a firm and gain the experience of interviews, application tests or both, by major firms from the region.
We are delighted to inform our students that our next Annual Career Day event will be running on 21 March 2019 from 10am to 2pm at PwC’s Academy. We hope to see you there!
